Short Description
Always tailored to fit the unique needs of every client, my goal is to offer therapy that helps people understand and move past the internal and external challenges that can hinder life satisfaction.
Description of Practice
Having been in practice many years, I blend many ways of working, depending on the needs of each client. I offer Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which is a combination of somatic work (working through paying attention to what is happening in the body using mindfulness based on both Hakomi and Somatic Experiencing), attachment work and Internal Family Systems work. This is particularly effective for those individuals struggling with attachment injuries stemming from childhood experiences which negatively impact their ability to have satisfying relationships to others. I also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is very good for resolution of single incident trauma. I am trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) which is a blend of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Mindfulness, as well as Motivational Interviewing. I have many years of helping people to address substance use issues from both an abstinence and harm-reduction approach. I'm happy to consult with you to see if I'm a good fit.
