President's Update on COVID-19 and Marin CAMFT
Like many organizations, Marin CAMFT is closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation. As long as COVID-19 remains a health risk, we will continue to take all necessary precautionary measures recommended by the Marin County and California Departments of Public Health. Based on the current recommendations of local and state public health department, all our chapter's events are currently offered online via Zoom video.
Individually as therapists and collectively as an organization of mental health professionals, we know the importance of staying connected, especially at a time of increased isolation and anxiety. MCAMFT is working diligently to offer our members various ways to stay connected during a time when social distancing is encouraged.
The mainstay of our offerings is our Continuing Education program. Our upcoming CE offerings ilncluded several topics that are especially timely during this pandemic, social turmoil, economic distress, and political tumult. These challenges can bring heightened stress for our clients as well as for us as therapists.
Looking ahead, our planned topics for CE lectures and workshops for the rest of 2020 include:
Also, as we do every year, we'll have our year-end Holiday Party — only this year it will be on Zoom, on Friday Dec. 4 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. We're putting together a special program that includes remote mingling, gift drawings, and more. Details to come!
As we finalize the times and dates for each event, we will let you know by email as well as postings on the Marin CAMFT website and Listserv. You can check for the latest on upcoming events on our Events Page.
In addition to CE workshops, we offer Sunday Night Community Chats for Members to share professional and personal experiences in a Zoom gathering. These are held roughly every other week from 6 pm - 7:30pm. You can see when the next one is scheduled by going to our Events Page.
For as long as is necessary, we are commited to finding solutions to any limitations due to public health concerns. We will keep you posted by email and on this site about any changes in our programming.
Please take care, stay well and stay strong,
President, Marin CAMFT
