MARIN CAMFT

President's Update on COVID-19 and Marin CAMFT

Like many organizations, Marin CAMFT is closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation. As long as COVID-19 remains a health risk, we will continue to take all necessary precautionary measures recommended by the Marin County and California Departments of Public Health.

Individually as therapists and collectively as an organization of mental health professionals, we know the importance of staying connected, especially at a time of increased isolation and anxiety. MCAMFT is working diligently to find solutions to facilitate connection during a time when social distancing is encouraged.

Based on the current recommendations of local and state public health department, we will be postponing our chapter's in-person social events. Meanwhile, we are offering a Sunday night community chat group for members to share professional and personal experiences in a Zoom gathering. We have held six already. The next one is scheduled for Sunday May 31 from 6 - 7:30pm.

MCAMFT understands that getting CEs is a membership benefit, and CEs are essential to our profession. MCAMFT takes its role as CE provider very seriously which is why we are working diligently to make sure you can get your CEs.

Therefore, we have moved our Friday CE Lecture Series to online until we can resume in-person meetings. The next MCAMFT online Friday CE Lecture Series is on June 13th, 12pm to 2pm. Join us as Healther Chamberlain, PsyD presents on The Benefits of Psychological Assessment and How it Can Enhance Your Work with Clients. Advanced registration is required, please CLICK HERE for full details on the event and to register.

We have also scheduled our first 2020 Saturday Workshop on Current Issues in Psychopharmacology with Padma Catell, PhD on Saturday June 6 from 9 am to 12 pm. Advance registration is required for this 3-hour CE event. Please CLICK HERE to learn more or to register.

For as long as is necessary, we are commited to finding solutions to any limitations due to public health concerns. We will keep you posted by email and on this site about any changes in our programming.

Please stay tuned for updates and stay well,

Lynne Clyde, LMFT
