Short Description
Somatic psychotherapy, trauma-informed, resource-based, respecting client's innate wisdom, healing capacity, and dignity
Description of Practice
Based in SF, currently providing services online. I view therapy as a sacred connection and collaboration, with the therapist as guide or mentor. With a sense of deep respect, curiosity, and empathy, I also invite humor and playfulness when appropriate. I believe in the wisdom of the body and its inherent healing rhythms. Understanding the biological basis of many of our behaviors and the body’s natural responses to stress and trauma helps significantly mitigate associated stigma and shame.

Working from a resource-based, trauma-sensitive approach, I integrate neurobiologically-informed parts work, cognitive behavioral techniques, embodied awareness, and mindfulness within a social justice and liberation psychology framework that honors cultural values, spiritual or religious beliefs, and each person’s unique identity and innate dignity.
